The representative of Ikorodu Federal Constituency, Rep. Babajimi Benson, has said that lack of land has prevented him from building a standard stadium which would have assisted in the development of sports in Ikorodu.

“Seeing these students here today brings me great joy. They asked me to give a few remarks, and as I listened to the last speaker who spoke about athletics,- someone who can run very well. It reminded me of one of my personal dreams.

“It has always been my dream to facilitate the construction of a standard stadium here in Ikorodu; one that includes an athletic track, a swimming pool, and facilities for other sporting activities. The main challenge, however, has been land.

“But I promise that once we can secure land, I will do everything within my power to make that dream a reality, because it is well deserved, and I want to achieve it under the leadership of our Kabiyesi.

“This is something I have always been passionate about – ensuring that Ikorodu has its own world-class stadium that will serve as a center for sports excellence and development”, he said.
